Injury Matters offers falls prevention training for health and fitness professionals in Western Australia that work with older adults living in the community.

The Active Balance for Falls Prevention training is a half-day workshop based on principles of exercise-based falls prevention. This interactive workshop explores the knowledge and skills required for health and fitness professionals to incorporate balance and strength falls prevention interventions into practice. Each workshop includes the following content:

Background and impact of falls
Risk factors for falls and age-related changes
Importance of balance in falls prevention
Falls risk assessment and screening tools
Strength and balance exercises and interventions for falls prevention
Ensuring safety during strength and balance interventions
When and who to refer to if needed
Stay On Your Feet® program
All workshops are delivered by a Registered Physiotherapist.
