Additional Information

This 200-hour Reformer Pilates Teacher Training is designed to prepare students to teach safe, intelligent, and inclusive Reformer Pilates classes with confidence and professionalism. Delivered over 6 months at Kaya Academy in Penrith, NSW (inside the Nin Yoga studios, Kaya academy is the name of our teacher training school), the course includes 148 hours of face-to-face learning, 22 hours of assessment, and 30 self-paced Reformer class attendances to support embodied understanding.

The training combines classical and contemporary Reformer repertoire with evidence-informed anatomy, movement science, and practical teaching methodology. Core modules include: anatomy and biomechanics, postural types and spinal health, breath and core function, machine setup and safety, programming and sequencing, cueing and communication, and accessibility considerations including prenatal/postnatal and inclusive bodies.

Students progress through a detailed movement library, learning how to break down, teach, and modify each exercise for a range of bodies and goals. Practical teaching skills are developed through observation, supervised practice teaching, and feedback. Assessment includes written theory quizzes, practical demonstrations, and teaching assessments.

By the end of the course, students are fully prepared to design and deliver Reformer classes in a studio or small-group setting, with an emphasis on safety, creativity, and client-centred programming.
