The Fort Green Pilates Matwork Training Program is a comprehensive, industry-aligned education pathway designed to develop confident, knowledgeable and professional Pilates Instructors. Our training is designed to equip trainees with the practical, theoretical and industry skills to be an informed, capable and confident Pilates instructor.
Our course is structured to meet AUSactive standards by combining evidence-based movement education, practical teaching skill and a strong focus on safety, scope of practice and professionalism.
The program provides trainees with a solid foundation in Pilates philosophy, principles, anatomy and functional movement. Embedded throughout the curriculum is also a strong emphasis on understanding movement mechanics in a Pilates setting, client safety and understanding the scope of practice as a Pilates instructors. Trainees learn how to appropriately program a Pilates class, interpret client information and apply skills and techniques to support individual needs in a 1 on 1 and group Pilates class settings.
A key focus of the course is practical skill development needed to create inclusive, supportive, and high-quality class experiences. Trainees learn effective cueing, communication, class planning, progressions and the ability to adapt sessions for diverse populations. Practical teaching opportunities, observation hours and assessment structures ensure students graduate with both theoretical knowledge and applied confidence.
