Additional Information

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is a specialsied training program that equips participants with the skills to recognise, respond to, and support individuals experiencing a mental health problem or crisis until professional help is available.

The course covers common mental health conditions such as anxiety disorders, depression, psychosis, and substance use problems, along with early warning signs and risk factors. Participants learn how to approach someone who may be struggling, start a supportive conversation, and provide initial assistance in a way that reduces distress and encourages appropriate help-seeking.

The training also addresses crisis situations such as suicidal thoughts, panic attacks, and acute psychotic episodes.

MHFA is designed for anyone in the community or workplace, particularly those in roles involving care, leadership, coaching, or frontline interaction. It is not a clinical qualification, but it builds practical confidence to respond safely and appropriately in the early stages of mental health concerns.
