Foot-ankle & Lower - Limb workshop
“From The Ground Up”
A 3hr in person workshop, analysing the foot and ankle complex, and the connection between them and respective subsystems to create a Stable yet Dynamic unit within us. This will allow participants to appreciate the importance of having a firm foundation, From the Ground Up, to not only provide us with a stable base but to also generate force appropriately for function.
By the completion of this workshop participants should have:
• gained a better understanding foot-ankle complex via its anatomy and neuro-anatomy
• the biomechanic of the foot and ankle complex
• the pathophysiology of the foot-ankle
• a broader knowledge and collection of Pilates repertoires to manage and strengthen the foot ankle as well as neighbouring structures
• application of a stable yet dynamic foot-ankle structure.
We then explore how Pilates exercises and principles can then be applied to further enhance this. We do this by dissecting and analysing the body from the ground from the ground up.
