This workshop focuses on how to assess restrictions and then encourage mobilisation and release of the visceral organs through common movement practice. This will also allow for release and activation of musculoskeletal restrictions by targeting movements that encourage visceral release that affects the other systems. Looking specifically at the Liver, Stomach and Colon this course examines:
- The surface anatomy of these organs
- Essential connections and movements
- Requirements for healthy movement
- Causes of restrictions
- Contraindications and indications
- Simple movement testing
- Repertoire to help release and mobilise
Using simulated props, participants are taken on a trip inside the body to understand how these organs relate to and benefit from specific movements, and working into repertoire examples that positively effect mobilisation of the viscera.
Participants will learn specific Pilates repertoire and applications to effect mobilisation and stimulation of the organs, that are immediately able to be used in client sessions and within scope of practice.
