This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to design and teach Pilates roller repertoire to a range of clients with varying abilities and experience.
Students will acquire the ability to design and deliver roller programs incorporating essentials, intermediate and advanced repertoire applying advanced teaching methodology and didactics to a range of target groups in a safe, effective and contemporary manner.
Graduates may work as Pilates Instructors or other allied health professionals where a sound knowledge of roller exercises, mechanical principles of Pilates, fundamental anatomy and biomechanics and teaching methodology are required.
This unit applies to people working as instructors in Pilates studios; and fitness or health centres where they may be responsible for teaching movement for fitness or remedial purposes to clients with varying backgrounds and experience for fitness or remedial purposes.
