I’m Adam Petford, a Brisbane-based personal trainer specialising in strength, fitness and functional movement for adults in their 40s, 50s, 60s and beyond.
I help men and women get stronger, leaner and healthier with simple, effective training that is tailored to their age, ability, injury history and lifestyle. My approach is built around safe, progressive strength training using key functional movement patterns such as squatting, hinging, pushing, pulling and carrying.
I work with clients who may be returning to exercise after years away from the gym, managing old injuries, struggling with weight gain, dealing with reduced mobility, or simply wanting to feel stronger and more confident again. My goal is to help every client build a body that supports them in everyday life — not just for the gym, but for energy, independence, confidence and long-term health.
As someone in my 50s who has trained for most of my life, I understand the challenges that come with getting older. I believe age should not mean accepting decline. With the right guidance, consistency and support, it is possible to improve strength, fitness and confidence at any stage of life.
I offer gym-based personal training from Goodlife Holland Park, mobile personal training across Brisbane, and small group or workplace training options. Sessions are practical, supportive and focused on real progress, with training adapted to suit each individual.
My training style is professional, encouraging and honest. I focus on helping clients move well, train safely, build confidence and create lasting results they can maintain.
